Charles "Rugs" Petrus

Charles "Rugs" Petrus, 69, of Hallstead, died Tuesday at Easton Hospital.

Born February 8, 1943, he was the son of the late Charles and Lillian Figel Petrus. Rugs was a graduate of Garfield High School, Garfield, NJ and self employed in the carpet business. Growing up, Charles spent a lot of time at the Lahoda family farm in Uniondale. He was a member of the Elks Club, Clinton, NJ and he enjoyed music and western movies. He loved socializing with his friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are sons, James, Anthony, and Michael; a brother Robert and wife Heather Petrus, Milford, NJ, his best buddy Doug Hagens, and nieces and nephews, including Robert Michael Petrus and Jamie Lynn Gregson.

Funeral will be Monday at 10 am in the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with services by Msgr. John Sekellick. Internment St. Mary's Cemetery, Thompson. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 pm. Parastas will begin at 5:30 pm.
