Carol Ann Panuska

Carol Panuska, 73, of Forest City died Friday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born September 7, 1949 in Roslyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen Harrington Panuska. She was a graduate of Valley Stream High School, Long Island and earned an bachelors degree from Utica College. Prior to retirement Carol worked as a telephone operator for Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. She enjoyed reading, Sudoku, and making Christmas ornaments. In her youth, she loved to swim at Lewis Lake.

She is survived by two children, Anitra Kupalo, Medford, OR and Douglas Verdgeline, Allentown; three nieces Erika Swanson, Taryn Swanson, and Erin Swanson-Batman.

Also preceded in death by two brothers Brian and Bruce Panuska and a sister Victoria Swanson.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at 12 pm in the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City. Viewing will be Wednesday from 10am – noon. Interment in Valley View Memorial Park, Jermyn.
