Bonnie Lee Corey, 66, of Forest City, passed away peacefully on Friday with her daughters by her side.
Born on September 9, 1959, daughter of the late Sallie Russell Lockett Emmons and stepdaughter to the late William Emmons. She was a member of The Waymart Church, where she found joy in fellowship and a renewed sense of faith. Until enjoying her retirement, she was employed in retail management where she met some lifelong friends. She was known for her kindness, gift of gab, and lively and spirited nature. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends, especially for gatherings. We will always hear her saying, “If you didn’t have seconds, you didn’t like it!”
She was a devoted mother to Melanie Curtis Wronowski (Glen), Collingswood, NJ; Jessica Curtis (Edward Huspen), Cherry Hill, NJ; Laura Bantin (Omiel), Pittsburgh, PA, and a proud Grammy/Mimi to Avery and Ashton Wronowski; Alexander Huspen; Kiah Scott, Cedela and Jovi Bantin.
Bonnie is survived by sister, Jill Baron (Joseph), Forest City, and brother, William R. Emmons (Angie), Herrick Center; sister-in-law, Marge Lockett, brother-in-law, Pat Gormley; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brother, Danny Lockett, and three sisters, Linda Gormley, Vicki Gregg, and Wendy Emmons. Her family finds comfort in knowing that they were with her on her final journey.
A private celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City.
