Barbara Ann Connor, 80, of Pleasant Mount, passed away peacefully at home on Friday evening. She was the beloved wife of the late William “Joe” Connor.
Born on June 15, 1944, Barbara was the daughter of the late John and Julia Rudall Urbas. A proud graduate of Forest City High School and Bloomsburg University, she dedicated her career to education, retiring from Preston Park Elementary School where she influenced the lives of many students with her kindness and dedication.
Barbara was a devout member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Pleasant Mount, where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society and known for helping make pirogies for church events. She was also a member of NEPA Rail Trails, reflecting her love for the outdoors and community involvement.
Barbara found great joy in traveling, gardening, and spending time with her cherished friends. Her warmth, generosity, and quiet strength touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her brothers, John Urbas of Old Forge, and Tom Urbas of Arizona; sisters-in-law, Mary Reeder and husband James of Union Dale, Patricia Mader and husband Scott, NJ and Dorothy Connor, NJ; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Church, 361 Great Bend Turnpike, Pleasant Mount. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time at the church.
Memorial contributions can be made in Barbara's name to the St. Katharine Drexel Altar and Rosary Society.
