Aloysius "Al" Statkun

Aloysius "Al" Statkun, 83, of Forest City, died Thursday afternoon at home. His wife is the former Regina Baranowski, Clifford Twp.

Born July 18, 1931, in Simpson, he is the son of the late Benjamin and Anna Lucien Statkun. Al was a marine diesel engineer and tool maker for Erie Sand and Gravel prior to retirement. His hobbies included horse racing, raising honeybees, and working in his garden. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Also surviving are three children, Susan Statkun, Clifford Twp., Jennifer Vauter and husband Dick, Clifford Twp., and Stephen Statkun and wife Kelley, Uniondale; six grandchildren, Daniel, Benjamin, and Rachel Vauter and Dana, Emily, and Laura Statkun; two sisters, Jeanne Dingee, ME, and Margie Oliveri, NV; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a brother Edmund Statkun and sisters, Pauline Bruno and Violet Gross.

Private interment will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
