Alice C. Bailer, 79, of Eynon, and formerly of Brandywine, MD died Saturday morning at the Greenridge Care Center, Scranton. Her husband of 56 years is John J. Bailer, Sr.
Born September 3, 1945, in New York City, she is the daughter of the late Charles and Eileen Williams Brooks. Alice was a 1963 graduate of Duvall High School and a 1967 graduate of Western Maryland College. She was a former school teacher in Maryland at Admiral Lackey High School, Thomas Stone High School, and North Point High School. She was a former retail executive for Hecht's Department Store. Alice enjoyed cheering for the Washington Commanders and Nationals. She liked to quilt, crochet and take photos. She played the guitar in younger years, and the piano all her life.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Gardens at Greenridge and the Greenridge Care Center for the compassionate care given to Alice.
Also surviving are two sons, John J. Bailer, Jr, New Braunfels, TX; and Thomas B. (Jill) Bailer, Browndale; five grandchildren Sophia, John, Jordyn, Audrey and Collin; a sister Martha (Brian) Fraser, SD; and a brother Jeffrey Brooks, CA; nieces and nephews
Viewing will be held Saturday March 1st, from 10am – 12pm in the Kevin Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City. Interment will be private in St. Agnes Cemetery, Forest City.
