Albert Wendall Hollis, Sr., 77, passed away Friday April 9th surrounded by his family.
Albert was born August 30, 1943 in Carbondale, son of the late Fred and Grace Hollis. He was the youngest of five children. Albert married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, the former Josephine Karwowski, on June 11, 1963. They were married 57 wonderful years having had five children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Albert was a self employed flooring contractor for over forty years in both New York and Pennsylvania. He was an avid hunter and took great joy in spending time with his sons, grandsons, and close friends. Even when his health deteriorated, he never missed a chance to be in the woods with his family and friends. Albert was a wonderful man, always there to lend a hand or tool. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife Josephine; Albert is survived by son Edward; daughter Debra and husband Kenneth; son Daniel and wife Krista; son Kenneth and wife Eudoxie; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and numerous loving friends.
Albert was preceded in death by four siblings and a beloved son Albert, Jr.
Viewing will be Tuesday from 4 – 7pm., at the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City. A blessing service will be Wednesday at 11:00am by pastor Jay Best. Interment Union Dale Cemetery.
