Agnes Daescher, 96, died Saturday at Osprey Ridge Healthcare Center, Carbondale. She was the widow of Frederick Daescher.
Born in Vandling, she was the daughter of the late Laurence & Jennie PalovcicChesnick. She was a graduate of Vandling High School. She had been employed by Northcross Greeting Cards, New York as an art department supervisor prior to retirement.
Agnes was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City. She enjoyed the outdoors tending to her garden and renovating things in her own artistic manner.
She is survived by a daughter, Jeanne and husband Bill Corbidge, Greeley; a son Richard Daescher and wife Elizabeth, Smiths Station Alabama; three grandchildren, Lara, Stephen and Kristin and an great grandson Ryan; a sister Kathryn Kowalako, Vandling and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Frank, John, Joseph, Edward, Henry and Thomas and two sisters, Anne Simmons and Mary Chesnick.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 am from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main St., Forest City with Mass at 10:00 am in Ascension Parish/ St. Joseph's Church, Hudson St., Forest City. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City.
Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
