Harold A. Rhone, Sr., 83, of Union Dale, PA, died Sunday morning at Barnes Kasson County Hospital Nursing Home, Susquehanna. His wife of 61 years is Ida Jesmer Rhone, Union Dale, PA.
Born September 24, 1935, in Martinsburg, NY, he is the son of the late Milford and Dorothy Edick Rhone. Harold was an Air Force veteran and prior to retirement he was a self employed painter, owning Northeastern Painting, Inc. in Turin NY for over 22 years. He worked hard and liked hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling in his Winnebago spending summers camping on the St. Lawrence and the winters in the south. They lived in Morganton, NC for many years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Ida, he is survived by five children, Jan Mooney and husband Randall, Lyons Falls, NY; Tammy Rhone, Maiden, NC; Harold “Butch” Rhone and companion Elaine Dantzler, Union Dale, PA; Richard Rhone and husband Micky Winks, Amarillo, TX; and Gary Rhone and wife Lisa, Mableton, GA; a sister Margaret Tuttle and husband David, Lowville, NY; 13 grandchildren, Rebecca, Serena, Rhiana, I. J., Jennifer, Candice, Hope, Amanda, Bobbi-Jo, Richie, Jon, James, and Katelyn, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Roy and brothers, Herb, Harvey, and Willard Rhone.
A celebration of life will be held at 1pm, on May 25th, at the Speakeasy, 9207 State Route 171, Union Dale, PA.
Cremation is through the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, PA.
