Gary L. Bennett

Gary L. Bennett, 61, of Forest City, died Sunday evening at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. He and his wife Tina Bennett would have celebrated their 39th anniversary on November 4th.

Born April 7, 1956 in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Donald L. and Ada Marie Loomis Bennett. Gary graduated from Wallenpaupack High School and worked at Glass Products, Carbondale for 32 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Gary was a veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for 31 years and a member of the Honesdale VFW. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching NASCAR. Most of all he loved spending time with his family

Also surviving are two sons Richard and wife Tracy, Forest City and Eric and wife Tresha, Forest City; two brothers Denton, Honesdale and Robert, TN; a sister Kathy Hibbs and husband Bill, SC; five grandchildren Rebecca and Hannah, and Emma, Mya and Noah; nieces and nephews.

Also preceded in death by a sister Joan.

Funeral Service will be Thursday at 11am in the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Main Street, Simpson. Interment with military honors in Valley View Memorial Park, Jermyn. Viewing will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm and on Thursday from 10:30 – 11am.
