Daniel J. Myer, 69, of Union Dale, died Wednesday evening at home. His wife, Sharon E. Myer passed away April 10, 2012.
Born in Montclair, NJ on April 14, 1949, he is the son of Robert E. Myer, Denville, NJ and the late Bettie Ham. Dan was a graduate of Morris Knolls High School and Morris County Community College. Prior to retirement he worked for Loral Skynet as an engineer. Dan was an avid hunter and a member of the NRA. He enjoyed tinkering with electronics and could fix just about anything. Some of his hobbies included camping, spelunking, and building model airplanes. Dan also liked astronomy and history. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Also surviving are two daughters, Alicia and husband Blake DeBord, Jefferson, NC; and Elisabeth and husband Benjamin Fry, Mount Joy; a son Thomas Myer, Union Dale; a brother Tim Myer, sisters, Cindy Cosentino and Linda Hodges; granddaughters, Madison, Amelia, Carly, and Kendyl; nieces and nephews.
Also preceded in death by a sister Lisa Myer.
A graveside service was held on January 17 at the Lyon Street Cemetery, Union Dale.
Arrangements were through the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City.
