Marie E. Lahoda, 91,
of Uniondale, died Sunday evening at the Forest City Nursing Home. She was the wife
of the late William J. Lahoda who died in 2002.
Born October 3, 1916
in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth
Langazo Petrus. She was a member of
St. John's
Byzantine Catholic Church, Forest City. Prior to retirement she
worked along side of her husband on the Lahoda family farm. She was a
gifted knitter and crocheter, and she loved gardening.
She is survived by
one son, W. R. Lahoda, Salt Lake City, Utah; one daughter Carol McLean
and husband Scott, Danville; one sister Stella Stanchak, Binghamton, 4
grandchildren – Nicholas, Sarah, Robert, and Scott, and two great
grandchildren – Max and Skyler.
She was preceded in
death by: 5 brothers Michael, Charles, John, George, and Nicholas.
Funeral will
be Saturday at 10am in the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main
Street, Forest City, with services by Msgr. John Sekellick.
Internment St. Mary's Cemetery, Thompson. Calling hours will be
Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Parastas will begin at 2pm.

Alberta
Stinavage, 80, of Thompson, died Sunday morning at Barnes-Kasson
Hospital, Susquehanna. She was the wife of Stanley Stinavage,
Thompson. They were married for 56 years.
Born October 22,
1927, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Frances Istenich
Medved. She was educated in Lakewood schools. She liked making
pierogies with the ladies from St. James Church, Pleasant Mount, She
enjoyed cooking, gardening, and picking strawberries. She loved her
grandchildren and great grandchildren, and will be missed by all.
Also surviving are
two sons Martin and wife Helen, Thompson, and Paul, Kalamazoo, Mich.;
one daughter Margaret Kipps and husband Ronald, Uniondale; a sister
Sylvia Marchuska and husband Justin, Vestal, NY; 8 grandchildren John
and wife Erin, Matthew and wife Gretchen, Teresa, Katie, Maria,
Kristin, Andrew, and Michael; and two great grandchildren Joshua and
Audra; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in
death by a sister Margaret Zgavec and a brother Martin Medved.
Funeral will be
Wednesday at 9:30am from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main
Street, Forest City, with mass at 10:00 am in St. James Church,
Pleasant Mount, Interment in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call
Tuesday from 3 to 7pm.

and formerly of Binghamton, died Tuesday at the Beth Israel Hospital,
NYC.
Born March 3, 1946,
she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Spolsky Stasko.
She was a graduate of
Lemoyne
College
and was employed as a secretary for Jewish Relief Services, NYC.
She is survived by
an uncle Andrew Stasko, Maryland, and cousins.
Memorial Mass
will be Saturday at 10:00am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City.
Interment Private.

Prezlomic, 88, of Forest
City, died Sunday morning at
the Forest City Nursing and Rehabilitation
Center.
Born Nov. 11, 1918, in Forest
City, daughter of the late
Joseph and Josephine Garvias Prezlomic, she was a member of Sacred
Heart Church, Forest
City, and a graduate of
Forest City High
School. She was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Force
and was a 60-year member of American Legion Post 524. She will be
greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters,
Felecia Prezlomic, Stella Pucul and Ann Suhadolnik.
The funeral will be Wednesday at
10:45 a.m. from the Kevin M.
Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main St., Forest
City, with Mass of Christian
Burial at 11 in Sacred Heart Church. Interment,
Sacred Heart Cemetery.

 Margaret Benarick, 90, of Forest City, died Friday morning at the
Forest City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Feb. 28, 1917, in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the
late Frank and Catherine Planinsek Supancik. She was a member of St.
Joseph's Church, the KSKJ, the Slovenian Heritage Society and St.
Ann's Society, all of Forest City. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and
liked the outdoors. She enjoyed her nieces and loved the surprise
parties they threw for her.
Surviving are a son, Paul, with whom she resided, Forest City; a
granddaughter, Paula Ann, New Jersey; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Frank, Joseph,
Anthony, Andrew and Edward; and two sisters, Mary and Frances.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Kevin M. Lesjack
Funeral Home, 513 Main St., Forest City. Interment will be private.
Friends may call Tuesday, 9 until service time.

92, died Monday morning at the Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale.
Born April 25, 1915
in Forest
City,
she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Nellie Kaminskas
Stinavage. She was a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Church,
Binghampton, NY. She was a gifted tatter and enjoyed her
grandchildren.
She is survived by
one son Walter and wife Jean, Uniondale; two brothers Edmund, Palm
Coast, FL, and Stanley, Thompson, five grandchildren Vincent,
Valerian, Mary Jean, Patricia, and David, 16 great grand children, and
nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in
death by one brother Vincent and one sister Mary Butenas.
The funeral will be

Julia J. Kuruts, 84,
died Monday at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. She was the
wife of the late Joseph P. Kuruts, who died in 1991.
Born August 22,
1922, in Forest
City,
she was the daughter of the late Martin and Victoria Kaleta Kieczkajlo.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Forest City, and a graduate
of Fell Twp. High School, Class of 1940. Prior to retirement she
worked in the garment industry.
She is survived by
one grandson Edward Stratford, Forest City and one granddaughter,
Carolyn Younce,
Baltimore, MD, and
several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in
death by a daughter Dorothy Stratford.

Frances Mary Hurst,
90, Forest
City,
passed away Monday morning at the Forest City Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late George Dramis.
Born April 27, 1917,
in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Frances
Kepic Rak. She was a member of the Roman Catholic Community of Forest
City and the KSKJ society of St. Joseph’s Church Lodge #12. She
enjoyed bowling and was a gifted quilter and sewer. She was an avid
Cincinnati Reds Baseball fan.
A special thanks to
the nursing staff at the Forest City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
for their tremendous compassion and wonderful care.
She is survived by
her caretaker and sister, Ann Simoncic, Vandling, a brother William
Kerzic, Florida, and a sister Jean Rupnik,
Ohio, and nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in
death by a brother Albert Kerzic.
Funeral arrangements

interment in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Patterson, NJ.

Frances Matircho, 97, passed away early Thursday morning at
the Forest
City Nursing Center. She was the widow of the late Joseph Matircho.
Born
April 27, 1910 in
Browndale, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Novak
Verboys. Frances was a member of St Joseph’s Church, a member of the
KSKJ, Slovenian Heritage Society, and a past president of the American
Legion Ladies Auxiliary, all of Forest City.
Frances was an avid
gardener and her flowers were renowned. She enjoyed oil painting and
won several amateur awards for her art work. She played Bingo, cards,
and scrabble, and liked to craft and potpourri. Frances seemed to
adapt to every change in her life.

She will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by two daughters Shirley Campbell and
Dorothy Flynn, both of
Barnegat, NJ, a
brother Henry Verboys, Uniondale, and a sister Dorothy Gordon,
Barnegat, NJ. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 16
great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers Frank, Anthony,
and Ludwig; three sisters Teresa Hoholick, Tillie Parkinson, and
Jennie Verboys; and one granddaughter, Susan Campbell.
A Mass of
Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 am, at St. Joseph’s Church,
Forest City. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Forest City.
Friends may call Sunday, 5 to 8 pm at the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral

Margaret “Peg”
Kilonsky, 86, died Wednesday morning at her home in Forest City. She
was the wife of the late James Kilonsky.
Born October 3, 1920
in Forest
City,
she was the daughter of the late George and Bridget Connelly Garrick.
After graduating high school in 1938, Peg worked in the business
office at Hornbeck’s Garage,
Forest
City and later was employed by the War Rationing Board, Susquehanna.
She relocated to
Massachusetts
where she spent the next 39 years working in the financial and
business offices of Framingham Union Hospital. While living in
Framingham,
she was active in the Business and Professional Women’s Club and was
an active spouse in the Elk’s Club where her husband Jimmy served as
Exalted Ruler. Upon retirement from the hospital she returned to
Forest City. Relatives, friends, and caregivers fondly remember Peg
for her wonderful sense of humor, unceasing determination and
gratitude, keen accounting abilities, and love of traveling.
A special thank you
is extended to her caregivers for their tireless efforts in caring for
her mind, body, and spirit. Their friendship, dedication, and
compassion made her life that much richer.
She is survived by
several nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in
death by two brothers Bill and George Garrick, and one sister
Catherine Cimochowski.

Frank
P. Zebrowski, 85, of
Curtis Valley,
passed away at home on Wednesday afternoon. Born in Forest City on
4/17/22,
son of the late John and Victoria Slimko Zebrowski, he was a resident
of Curtis Valley for most of his life. He operated a dairy farm for a
number of years and was a member of Dairyman's League. He retired from
PennDot after working many years as a road foreman.
He was a member of
Sacred Heart Church,
Forest City. He was also a member of Browndale Sportsman's and
provided a place for the Club's picnics in the early years. He loved
taking area children fishing and taught them the enjoyment of the
outdoors. He enjoyed gardening and also had a special knack for
grafting fruit trees. He will be dearly missed by family, friends, and
neighbors for his willingness to lend a hand if needed. Doing good
deeds for others was a priority of his. His greatest joys in life were
getting to see the kids and visiting with friends and neighbors.
Surviving are a son - David, and wife Mary Lou, Forest
City; 2 daughters - Ann Carpenter, and husband, Jim; Joanie Gajda, and
husband, Mike, all of Waymart (Curtis Valley); a brother - John
Zebrowski, Colorado; 2 sisters - Celia Broncella, Forest City, and
Helen Millus, Manville, NJ.
Also surviving are 2 granddaughters - Jennifer Yaklic,
Carbondale, Erin Zebrowski, Denver, PA; 3 grandsons - Ryan Mahler,
Nagshead, NC, Corey Hojewski, Forest City, Justin Hojewski,
Carbondale; 4 great-granddaughters - Ronnie, Skyler, Natalie, and
Hailey; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers - Stanley, and Leon,
and 3 sisters - Mary Wojcik, Josephine Wojcik, and Dorothy Risner.
Arrangements are private. Interment, Sacred Heart cemetery.

David Coffin, 66, of Forest City
died Friday evening at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. Born May
11, 1941 in Philadelphia, he was the son of Virginia (Freed) Rullo,
Forest City, and the late William David Coffin, II.
David was a graduate of Upper
Moreland High School, Willow Grove, PA. He worked as a nursing
assistant for many years. He was an avid gardener and will be greatly
missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by one brother Walter
Rullo, Philadelphia, and one sister Virginia Burke, Forest City, and
several nieces and nephews.

Kevin J. Kurtz, 48, of
Forest City died
Saturday afternoon at Marion Community Hospital.
Born
August 4, 1958, in
Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Margaret McAndrew
Kurtz. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed cooking and
loved working on cars. He was a loving father and will be greatly
missed by his family.
Also surviving are three sons Corey and Justin Hojeski,
Forest City, and Harley Kurtz, Simpson; two daughters Naomi and
Mackenzie Kurtz, Montrose; one grandson Wesley Kurtz; one
granddaughter Hailey Margaret Hojeski; one brother Michael, Virginia;
one sister Michelle Heller, Uniondale; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be private at the convenience of the
family.

Hospital, Honesdale. He was the son of Michael and Kelly Weaver
Nebzydoski, Pleasant Mount.

Margaret Nebzydoski, Pleasant Mount; maternal grandparents, Robert and
Lillian Weaver, Pleasant Mount; a brother, Henry; and several aunts,
uncles and cousins.

Gallocher, Daniel

Daniel M. Gallocher, 60, of
New York City, died
Friday morning at home.
Born
March 26, 1947, son
of Agnes Polesnak Gallocher and the late Maurice V. Gallocher, Dan was
raised in New York. He spent two years in Vietnam, and very shortly
after, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which was further
exacerbated by the effects of Agent Orange. The disease got
progressively worse, and he eventually succumbed to it.
Dan graduated from the
Academy of
Aeronautics in New York in the 1970s, but the effects of MS caught up
with him and, unfortunately, he was never able to work.
Dan, who became blind in one eye, was a member of the
Lighthouse Players, a group of sight-challenged actors. He had several
leading roles with the Lighthouse and was written up in The New York
Times with favorable reviews. He also loved to go to Broadway plays
with friends and relatives in
New York.
There was no one else like Dan. He always had something
funny to say and always had a twinkle in his eye. Even when the MS was
at its worst, Dan was at his best. He was a beloved son, brother and
uncle. He was devoted to his mother and doted on his two nieces. He
passed away quietly.
Also surviving are a brother, Martin and wife, Anita; two
nieces, Amanda and Eileen, all of New York; a nurse’s aide, Cesar, who
was also one of his best friends and administered to his medical needs
and doctor visits for a period of 17 years; as well as Cesar’s nephew,
Dante.
Graveside
services will take place Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Cemetery,
Forest City. Arrangements by the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513
Main St., Forest City.

Svecz, Dianne K.

Dianne K. Svecz, 50, of Forest City,
died Tuesday morning in the Mercy Hospital inpatient Hospice Unit
after courageous battle with cancer. Her husband is Gary Svecz. The
couple would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary June 18.
Born Dec. 28, 1956, in Scranton,
daughter of the late Robert Sr. and Georgiana Altman Ludka, she
attended South Scranton Vo-Tech, where she graduated in 1974. She was
a member of the Roman Catholic Community of Forest City. She worked
for the military branch of PNC Bank in Scranton for 15 years and later
worked for Educational Direct for 12 years in Scranton. Dianne was a
loving wife and enjoyed camping, NASCAR and her three beagles, Kodi,
Dakota and Louie.
Also surviving are a brother, Robert,
Trevose; and nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Monday at 9:30
a.m. from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main St., Forest
City, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Joseph's Church,
Forest City. Interment, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Forest City. Friends
