Mary Faye (Riggs) Buck

Mary Faye Buck, 86, of Elkdale died Sunday afternoon at home. She and her husband Walter J. Buck would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on October 2.

Faye was born October 16, 1930, in Knoxville, TN. She was the daughter of the late Houston and Bessie Riggs and was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City. Nothing made her happier or prouder than having her family around constantly. She liked baking and doing something special with each of her grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping trips to New York City with Lizzy. A favorite past time was sitting on the front porch watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play in the yard and grow up. She was also a talented seamstress. Faye was adored by her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Also surviving are children Walter Buck and wife Lynda, Owego, NY; Mary Sheerin, St. Louis, MO; Linda Buck, Forest City; Lisa Hescock and husband Kyle, Eugene, OR; and Stephen Buck and companion Rachel, at home; 9 grandchildren Jennifer, Michelle, Bobbie Jo, Ashlee, Amanda, Alycia, Kylie, Michael and James; Great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Also preceded in death by sons Ronald and Thomas; a daughter Elizabeth Rebernick; a grandson Matthew; a granddaughter Elizabeth; a brother Roy; and a sister Eleanor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10 am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Viewing will be Thursday from 5 - 7 pm at the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Forest City.
